When it all Began...
I am the mom of two wonderful and amazing children! (All grown up) I'm an artist/sculptor and a hobby photographer inspired by nature! I enjoy making fun and whimsical sculptures, figurines, and cake toppers. Each of my pieces is created with a lot of love, and attention to detail. When it all began... Artwork and crafts were always a huge part of my family life while I was growing up. I have always enjoyed a wide range of arts and crafts, exploring different ways to express creativity. Every year at Christmas time I especially enjoyed our tradition of creating ornaments out of dough. My craft grew over the years and the medium I love to work with became polymer clay. I began working with polymer clay in 2004, after my mom gave me a basket full of clay and tools for my birthday... I was hooked! I find sculpting with clay to be very relaxing, and I enjoy working on the smallest of details in each piece.
I encouraged artwork and crafting in my own home, as my children journeyed through their childhood. I worked full time, living some time in Arizona, California and finally Texas while my husband and I were raising our children. Even though clay-work and photography were always passions of mine, I was only able to enjoy them as hobbies until recently. Now I am living in Michigan, dedicating time to my clay artwork, and I feel so fortunate to be spending time doing something I love so much. I create cake toppers, specializing in designing, creating and personalizing wedding cake toppers.

About Polymer Clay~

Polymer clay has been around for over a century. Bakelite was one of the first forms of polymer clay available to artisans. It's actually a soft, smooth clay-like plastic that was developed in a laboratory. In the late 1930's an artist in Germany (Fifi Rehbinder) was very happy to see this new product on the market. After experimenting with it, she discovered, and began using a by-product of it to create doll heads. She went on to open her own company and polymer clay grew from there. Polymer clay is made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and is soft and pliable when it's raw and can be sculpted into just about any shape. Once polymer clay is cured in an oven on a low temperature, it becomes hard and durable. Polymer clay comes in an array of colors and those colors can be mixed to create many other colors. Polymer clay figurines are remarkably sturdy, but can break upon impact and should always be handled with care. If breakage should occur, the piece can easily be mended with any super-strength glue (gel super glue). Pieces can be wiped with a damp cloth or lightly brushed with a small paint brush if they become dusty. Pieces sculpted out of polymer clay are fade resistant, water proof and will last a lifetime. A perfect keepsake for any occasion!
